Need a Wind Mitigation Inspection?
We Have You Covered
First, What is a Wind Mitigation Inspection?
A Wind Mitigation Inspection records features of the home that relate to the buildings ability to withstand hurricane and tropical storm force conditions, giving the homeowner a discount on their insurance if certain features are present. This includes (but not limited to);
Hurricane Clips/Straps (installed with minimum nailing requirements)
Roof Covering That Meets Certain Age Requirements (area dependent)
The Presence of a Secondary Water Barrier (SWR) Under the Roof Covering
Either Windows and Glazed Entries With Impact-Rated Glass OR a Impact-Rated Shutter System (Must meet the requirements outlined on the state form and proper documentation MUST be present for ALL glazed entries and windows of the home to qualify for a discount - call, text, or email for more information)
While the presence of a feature will provide a discount, the absence of a feature typically doesn’t cause your insurance premiums to go up.
